Angel of Death
 

As an angel sits watching the scene shivers begin to engulf her
She prepares for what she is about to witness and in her seat she starts to stir
Below a child has wondered too far and has already begun to cry
This angel takes a deep breath n waits as a crystal tear escapes her eye

A child...lost in a suburban jungle cries for a mother that cannot hear
Her eyes scanning her surroundings hoping that she might still be near
Stumbling blindly but she finds that this jungle only expands
Suddenly she stops crying...a warm embrace has taken her hand

She stares into this stranger's eyes her own eyes stained with tears
He offers her some candy...it's sweetness melting all her fears
Leading her away from the crowd she follows...no hesitation
As he buckles her into the seat her blue eyes fill with desperation

She begins to object...reaching for the door but he has started the car
As he drives from the scene...her mother...she wonders if his going far
Tears streaming down her face once more...she begins to call 4 her mum
As he watches this helpless child he wonders what he has become

No longer can she see buildings...tree's are her new scenery
As the car pulls up beside a river...all she can see is greenery
He opens her door to get her out and she sinks lower into her seat
A child put into an adult's world...she knows she has met defeat

She wakes on the waters edge...he is no longer anywhere in sight
Staring down upon her...smiling...is an angel all dressed in white
She glances up to the heavens as she bends down on one knee
And whispers softly to the child...'Come baby...your coming home with me.'
