Intermental and Drama Queen - True Colours
Intermental: Baby it dont matter whether u black or white, Brown or yellow, all it matter that you actin rite, Treat your baby rite, be their for the one you love, It dont matter bout colour, we still got trust, Baby I love you for you and for ure compassion, Affection is ever present with any skin complexion I realise you feel inside that ure uncormfortable, But they need to recognize our love is unstoppable, Unbreakable, the bond between two lovers Remember baby it dont matter bout the colors Our love has driven my energy into makin this Whatever the critcs say or them racist tricks People tryna stop us cos we have a culture clash, "why u wit that white chick" why you ask me that? We all humans, and we part of one family, Never fallin, we makin new rules to gravity. Hook: (Drama Queen) Yellow or red, black or white, there are no colors in love Only this one person you consider an angel from above Two people touching each other's skin, smooth as silk So don't ever say that chocolate doesn't mix with milk (Intermental) My black pen writes on this white page, love arrives From the angels above, right into my eyes, First thing I saw was beauty, dnt matter bout colour, I love you because you were down with this brother Drama Queen: A glistering tear escapes my eye as I slowly kiss your caramel skin 'Cause people act like what we feel within is some sort of deadly sin Mean looks behind our backs as if whites cannot care about blacks But you hold me tight in your strong arms and softly whisper: relax Love you so, no other man has been able to understand me like you I never knew what we had to go through: all the hate on what we do Feel so blessed as I now rest, so protected and safe, on your chest Showing a narrow-minded world the love we posses has progressed I pity the haters for not even opening up to true dimension of a heart He kept holding me down from start ... no one will ever tear us apart Why should I date someone I don't love 'cause he's from same race? None can replace my boo's style, grace and oh so tender embrace Always have his back, no matter what, I'm his Bonnie, he my Clyde Fiery passion has never died since our beautiful true colors collide Whoever hurts my boo gotta deal with this chick because I'm his girl And he will forever be my handsome black pearl, only one in world Hook: (Drama Queen) Yellow or red, black or white, there are no colors in love Only this one person you consider an angel from above Two people touching each other's skin, smooth as silk So don't ever say that chocolate doesn't mix with milk (Intermental) My black pen writes on this white page, love arrives From the angels above, right into my eyes, First thing I saw was beauty, dnt matter bout colour, I love you because you were down with this brother |

I love you both, yet hate you, too because you made me tear up in fron of jerome (damn you) lol but I definately liked this drop especially DQ's verse, it was very genuine, either that, or she's just a really good story teller. As far as the actual verses go...
Intermental: flow was okay, it was a tid bit choppy at times (not the words, the ideas), you could've gone more complex and more out of the box with your emotion/wordplay, metas were lacking, too. Multis were good, and your vocab was on point. It just didn't strike me that hard, it needed that extra something. It wasn't bad, though. Overall, I would give it a 6/10. Drama Queen: Imagery was very good, i could feel the people staring at me just by reading it (idk if i'm a little byist because i'm also in an interracial relationship, but i think the imagery was very good) emotion was strong, the entire verses was put together perfectly, i loved how you used the 'true colors collide' line. However, the wordplay was lacking and it was good, but there's always improvement on complexity w/ the rhyme scheme and metas. Overall, I would rate it an 8/10. hope i helped. |
Thanks for feed gurl, stuff was written straight from heart and own experience
