roughly how much

would it cost to fund your own album?

I have been looking into it and theres a few options you can take.

pay a company to do all the work; Thats duplicate the CD's, supply covers, print booklet and CD printing for roughly 3.40 per Cd if your ordering 500 CD's.

Or

Simply pay the same company to just duplicate your CD then go to a printing company to get all the covers and booklets made

or

Simply do it all yourself, which the level of booklet and cover quality will still be the usable, but not as perfect as paying high dollers for proffesional.

Anyone have any good points of view on this? What option would they take?

My current budget for CD manufacturing is 1000 :(

Bro it can cost up to the millions very easily..

Just depends how big of a release your looking to go for..

Cause sure you can go reproduce a few hundred cd's to begin with, but if your not promoting your shit right (which costs major $$$) then how the fuck are you gonna make your money back? Let alone make a profit...

If you wanna do it all solo and independant... Then your gonna have to atleast find some local promoters and set some hip hop shows up around town, maybe travel a bit do shows in other towns, make sure radio stations know about you and try to get some interviews..

Not to mention if your gonna spend loads of money on the cd and promo, your gonna deffo need to be putting out a professional sounding product, no bedroom recordings with a cheap mic you got off ebay.
