waking up in a war zone...
 

i woke up this morning with screams in my ears/
armageddon had landed, my worst fears had come clear/
there was an item on the news that made my face turn grey/
my old hometown....the whole place blown away/
i spent 10 minutes throwing up guts, 10 in tears/
another 20 just mkaing up texts to spend to my peers/
after an hour of sweating, it was safe betting, no-ones replying/ and now i'm getting stressed out of my mind, they must be dying/
i ran from my house, planned to go south, look for survivors/
soldiers on the streets, smoldering tarmac like giant lighters/
dogs running wild, attacking small children, adults crying/
some twirling guns with style, some firing/
the sky is black, scorched from this primed attack/
and as i jump into the car i just might look back/
i havent driven for 2 minutes before my hope starts fading/
the roads been demolished and the traffic is half blazin'/
and i'm half aging, my wills fadin', i dont want to go on/
i cant see how my country could rise and grow strong/
even though we've seen the war coming for so long/
even though we've been banking all bets on those bombs/
i take a walk to the crater, take a look in basin/
force my eyes to focus on this state that i'm facing/
nothing but rubble for a mile, i'm bent double for a while/
breaking down from my grief from the trouble, we're defiled/
