let me just point out one thing to u on this whole slavery era.... becuz irish immigrants and germans had it pretty bad also
and ill tell u why.... u slaves had it rough, but ur masters wanted to keep u alive and wanted u to reproduce.... u had a home.... the irish immigrants and germans who were working at that time in the south had no ties to the master because they got paid (and very low at that).... they usually couldnt even afford land, let alone a house to live in... and while blacks were out in the fields, the irish and germans did all the risky work...... like building roofs and such...... and many died from very dangerous work (i know im not explainin the dangers that well..... but many slave masters have been quoted explainin the fact that they would always try to get one of the non slaves to do certain types of work cuz they may die or even get hurt, and chances of throwing out a back was even enough reason to not have a slave do the job), and masters didnt care about them because than it would be one less man they were paying...
those immigrants were a class of people who didnt even have a place to live, and altho some made money, they didnt even have as good of a life as a slave..... many had to become indentured servants (pratically slaves) just so they could live somewhere..... and i know blacks have a right to complain but many other immigrants of that time wouldve rather had ur life.... you had the easier job, and u never had to worry about a place to sleep.
i still feel bad for the slaves, but no one ever feels bad for my irish peeps
