Just 17 years old, at college, doing a course to gain knowledge//
Of course it’s hard, but I discard to give in n not get acknowledged//
Mortgages n marriage may lay ahead of me//
But for the time being, I’m seeing n taking what’s in front of me//
A life of a boy with prospects n a future//
Sitting at his desk writing a spit on his computer//
Posting to see n check what the response is from this culture//
I told ya, I’m 17 years old n no older//
This year, will be another chapter in my folder//
Colder, the days draw darker//
The street lamps light up, like a sparkler//
My life, is still young, but with a heart of a soldier//

With a short temper n a anger that goes off into a rage//
Like an animal locked in a cage//
He’s agitated n mixed up, cos of his age//

He’ll out-grow it when he’s older, becoming a man with priority of a soldier//
Folders n chapters of his life, come into play//
He’s just seventeen years old, with no plans to give way to what life demands//
When the day comes he’ll descend n apprehend into becoming a man//
