its just one of those things you have to break down and take
eighteen with a pregnant girlfriend...what a stupid mistake
it began..our senior year in highschool, breaking all the rules
we thought we loved each other, didn't realize we were fools
hiding in my bedroom, petrified of dad, trying not to be heard
then it happend, a condom break, we pretended it never occured
at first we just laughed it off... but little did we realize
a few weeks later..."honey, i'm pregnant" became a big surprise
now with responsibility in my life, no where close to prepared
i told my family and faced the consequences trying not to be scared
eight months later, he came, at first site the emotions were love
at that point in my life, everything changed...push came to shove
although i was excepted into every university, i now had a baby
and this brought me to my measly college degree, major in carpentry
time spent with my friends was hard, as i held back my tears
hearing about what i missed, the parties, the games, the beers
but, its just one of those things you have to break down and take
nineteen now, but with a child next to me...my beloved mistake
