You Were There.....

when we always use to stay up all night and talk
about how you been there for me since the day i learned to walk
you were there.....when i first fell down -n- got hurt
you picked me up and wiped the blood off with your shirt
you were there....when i first had my heart shattered
you cheered me up in which it always ended up in laughter
you were there.....yes you were there.....i thank you

i remember when i first got into trouble with the law
you looked so angry to where you could break my jaw
you were there.....to teach me the good and the bad
telling me dont feel sorry for my self, dont feel sad
you were there.....to let me know whats okay and whats not
you never walked away and always feeled me in on your thought's
you were there.....yes you were there.....i thank you

now a days your no longer here or by my side
but thats because you ran into heart problems and died
you were there.....to prepare me for the days ahead
i still fill your presence in my heart, even though you dead
you were there.....i will never forget what you've done
for me, besides my parents you were number one
you were there.....yes you were there.....i thank you
