Normally I go for starting a chorus... because it's the most simple portion in the track, but one of the most important.

Then, just listen to the beat and write whatever comes to your head at a given point. You don't necessarily have to write the bars in order from first to last (16), the first bars I write down normally go in the middle of my first verse or a few bars after the first one.

Like say you got 16 bars to write. The first thing you write might not be your opening bars. At least for me it rarely is. I'm used to makin a lil' "entrance" to the first bar instead of just waiting for the beat to come in.

Thats most proberly the easiest part for me. I love to write, so when Im bout to sit down and write somthing, I obviously have the concept in my head, so the start is proberly the best.

My problem is while Im writing on songs Ill get another concept i my head, which makes me start rushing the song im writing to get onto the new concept.

But ive recently learnt to jot concepts down on paper so I can allways come back and write them.

That hardest part for me is production. Spitting is easy, writing is fun. production is fun but when your currently un educated in production it can get frustraiting.

co-sign.... I always write to a beat, and the first thing I work on is the hook. The beat gives you the feel of the track and what kind of mood it puts you in. From there I get the feel of the track, get the hook down, and it usually will give me the feel of the rest of the track. word.

Man...... All you need is inspiration...

Get a friggen opinion and start making songs for a cause rather than just for the sake of writing rhymes.. When I write, I write because theres something I wanna get off my chest, or something I want to get accross to people.. Or I'll just be in the mood to write a party track thats uplifting to people that hear it.

If your a real rap artist these things should come easy to you because you should always have something you want to express in your music. Try and take a more hungry stance towards learning. Read books and gain opinions on a large range of issues... That will automatically spark the interlect and give you new ideas to begin basing your work on.... Eventually, you'll end up having too much to write about and you'll be in the position where you actually are able to call yourself a rap artist as opposed to just rapping because you wanna be cool, or because you like rhyming or w/e pseudo artistic reason you like rapping..

Think about it.

NOS, why you always gotta down somebody?...all he did was ask a simple question...what's the hardest part for YOU to write in a song...not to talk down on him cuz he doesn't fit YOUR bill of what a "real" rapper is or should be...once in a while just comment on what the thread is about rather than down talking someone...you could've stated all of your opinions but said them all in a much more positive manner *smh*

anyway, the hardest part for me is the hook and the in general topic...the 1st bars once I have a concept are easy and then as I keep going it gets easier because I already have in my head what I wanna spit about...the hook is hard for me cuz I'm not one of those people that find it easy to rap up an entire song into 4 bars, which is really what a hook is...

most peole I know write their hook first, that's what the 1st 4 bars ends up being...but I get off track and vague that way cuz I usually tell stories and it's harder to snap that into 4 simpler bars...at least for ME anyway...

it depends on my mood... i used to do all da hooks for my crew... shyt just came easy for some reason.. nowadays the hook is a lot harder cuz i wanna move from da traditional "rap" hook to more of a song styled hook... i usually just let the beat dictate what i write... lots of times i'm just bullshittin' around and then i'll spit some shyt and be like... "whoa!!!! i gotta write that one down!" ... just reading some of da bullshyt in the diss the person thread can get me hype sometimes...lol... and yes... i still OWN THAT THREAD...lol... inspiration can come from anywhere, man... don't limit yaself... look around you... family... a tv show... a recent event... books... relationships... hell, i even wrote a rhyme about oatmeal once... *will be recording that as soon as i find the right beat!...lol*

He wanted advice... I gave him advice.

Its not down talking at all. Hell, even a lot of rappers that have deals and go big time aint real artists....... Your acting like I told him to quit...

I told him to take a more thirsty approach towards learning and the opinions you'll gain will give you a much broarder topic range. Therefore making what he finds hard, suddenly become easy.

you said everything you said before jsut now WITHOUT the down talk...

why can't you jut do that the first time?...I know you mean it as harmless commentary, but when you do that it seems like you're a major hater and are covering up for your negative comments to be less noticable when you can say the SAME thing without any of that eXtra stuff...

be more conscious of the approach you take when making commentary on or actually answering people's questions
