The person that buys their AUDIO gear not based on LOOKS and knows that the LOOKS of a mic, or any other peice of hardware means absolutely nothing at all. The person that's not buying hardware to "look cool" and buys hardware to "have richer and clearer sound". this is the same preson who ends up spending less money to have great sound because they don't end up buying some garbage that "looks cool" only to end up replacing it with the right thing anyway after they find out that their stuff still sounds low-qual. THAT'S the smartest person in a studio]

if it wasnt for my soundcard breakin and my dad bein a bitch and not wanting to atleast buy the same "meh" one, let alone a better one (fuckin dowgraded wen i told him it was fuckin vital for makin the music my group got a record deal for) i might have close to the best quality on the site....... AND i record while my brother and 3 friends play xbox 360 in the same room, couples kickin it, and a bunch of ignorant kids who dont know wat "shutup, were recordin" means...... not to mention a washer and dryer on here and there and the loudest fridge in the world.. and kids always wanna turn up the headfones, and drop my mic.....

lmao, i rambled so much...... but im just so proud at how well i can mix wit so much fuckin interference wen i try to record myself or my group

i only spent 120 for my setup, includin shippin, and cords......... pop filter, stand, TWO mics, preamp.......

some kids spend more than 120 ON a mic

lol most of my songs wen i was recording.. the tv was on, sis on fone, fan on.. etc.. all these things were loud as hell n on.. but u can never hear it on my karoke mic haha.. but now got a new rode nt1-a and the mic is clear as hell, now everything has to be quiet as hell, n i gotta put 2-3 blankets over my modem aka computer cuz the fan in it is not too loud, but loud enough for the mic to pick up.. lol but yea.. i dont buy things i know i dont need.. jst wut i need.. like mic, stand, cables, pop filter, and pre-amp with phantom power in it.. after that all easy =P.. but still bout 450.. cuz mic wont play without the phantom power.. i jst got the pre-amp to have more power for the mic.. oh n if it wasnt for the discount.. it would cost round 900-1200 bucks..would have spent more, but realized dont need it thanx to that info. bout tuning your mic, it helps alot.. but takes for ever and alot of patients to get the tuning aka eqing right...

but it could have been atleast 400 buck.. cuz some of the things i have for the mic i could have gotten for a cheaper price.. but cant buy online. dont have credit card haha

Yea, when i was recording on a desk mic, and helped me realize how important it was to know exactly what you was doing with what your working with. Experience is more important than a lot of bull shit equipment that you dont know how to work. Basically using it just to fill space in the room.
