For those who watch Mad TV and SNL, could I write for them?

IP: 64CA 6C26

I've always felt that I could write/create skits as funny as Mad TV or SNL--i.e., for those who find those shows funny.

So, here are a few ideas for skits I came up with.

Skit 1:

A spoof of Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model"...Have "Tyra" come in the house with the girls and act like a pimp like, "Hoe, where's my money"...She'd be slappin chicks around and just clownin on all of them...Then, when one of the aspiring models says something out of turn, "Tyra" orders the other chicks to throw her out the window or something outrageous.

Skit 2:

There's a mattress called the Tempur-Pedic mattress that uses so-called Space-age technology. Supposedly, this material form fits to your body, but won't transfer motion because it doesn't use traditional springs. In the real commercial for it, they claim that now your "partner" can get a sound night's sleep because even if you move around, it won't disturb them.

Well, for a skit, I'd spoof that commercial and bill it as the "Adulterer's Mattress"...Basically, the skit would suggest that with this mattress, you can cheat on your wife or hubby in the same bed and your spouse would never know.

Skit 3:

Spoof a rap video...I think the only thing that'll persuade people that "bling bling" and overt sexuality in rap is boring is to satire it, making the people who perpetrate it seem ridiculous...

So, I'd have a video with like 90 year old women walkin by in thongs, in that typical slow-motion editing...

I'd have the lead rapper in full medieval body armor...How much more bling can you rock than that?

I'd have rappers humping tree stumps...ANYTHING to show how absurd flaunting sex in a rap video has become

HOLLA

There's a huge difference between comedy writing (which people go to school for) and a few ideas now and then.

That wasn't my question though. And, I didn't know you had to go to school to be funny or not. I think that's natural.

Wasn't your question in the thread title?

and yes Comedy writing is a career. Anyone can "be funny" once in a while, but there's a formula to "comedy". Wont get a job on any comedy staff without knowing it.

blah blah blah etc

for #2.....
everyone would think of the exact same thing if u watched that commercial....as in the commercial u have a man n a woman layin down n one gets up kinda like they are sneakin away while the other is sleepin.....its not fuckin clever i thought they were tryna appeal to ppl who are fuckin around when i saw that....that was the first thought that went through my mind.......................so q,is far from clever....n seein how fuckin awfully wack the other 2 ideas are............its safe to say he'd be beyond wack if he ever(for god knows what reason) got the chance to write

I'm not saying no because I don't like you.

Those just weren't good ideas. #2 is a weak idea as well, if it was ever used it'd only be a filler skit.

Stella and The Lonely Island, now that shit is funny.
