but besides your *ahem* misguided opinion the reason why people have their accent when they rap is because that's their accent when they talk, so it doesn't make sense for a UK rapper to talk with his normal voice and then rap with a US accent. And i don't know about singing because i don't sing.

that ain't an offensive question because i've noticed this also...

it's prolly because like "PIMPIN aint easy" said when you sing your vocal tones are stretched hence why it doesn't show as much...the variety of accents in the UK from southern to Northern when you talk regularly it's soo different but when you speak it's your natural tones that appear and in rap you basically speak so your vocal tones do not become stretched and are more noticable...but if you listen to singers you can still hear the accent behind the singing...but it's less noticable

its like alot of people have said,when rapping you arent using notes...singers go into different notes with there vocals and you probably cant tell.like pimpin said..if you listen to arcic monkeys you can tell they from yorkshire...

but its the same with any country...not just uk...listen to kylie minogue....you cant tell shes australian as such......listen to westlife..you cant tell their irish when they sing....

listen to shakira...its same no matter were you from...in some cases you can probably tell..not in all though
