she sat there staring at the starry sky
thinking of dreams that will pass on by
few weeks she thought till graduation day
time for woman hood her mom would always say

she had this dream since she was the age of six
as she imagines her future over a bowl of kix
she is now almost a teenager blowing out the candles on the cake
as the flames go out with one gust of wind
she still Dreams of what her future will send

her dad whispers in her ear
you grow up faster year by year
she replies with an innocent voice
i will always be your little girl that's my choice

her mom watches her getting ready for prom
she is sixteen and now knows where she's from
at the point of being half done
but at the same time learning lessons and still having fun

her name lingers in the air on the last day of highschool
shes walking the line with a smile with the thought now calm down stay cool
her family yells out of excitement but her moms in the corner crying with enjoyment

when the ceremonies all over she runs to her parents
as the cameras flash they both say there proud

what's next what's now after highschool
still thinking and gazing out side the window at the age of six
where she then pours herself a new bowl of kix
