A nigga with the rage of oppresion etched into the blue print of my soul.
In the age were agression is a synonym of self control
But this is what’s known
First I was “Monkey” and “Savage”, but through time it changed
I went from “Darkey” to “Boy”, to more politically correct names
But through it all the one constant remains the same…
I Am Still A Nigga
I can’t run your governments, your companies, or marry your daughters
But I can shine your shoes and take your orders
And sweep your hallways
But this is the way things have always been…
The color of night describes the skin of my kin
Women and men
Destined for death because black is associated with Sin
But never again because,
Black is beautiful
Being black is beautiful
We my Niggas are beautiful
But our beauty goes unrecognized to the eyes of those who despise our very souls
As to the reasons why we are so loathed,
only God knows…
But no longer is your derogatory language correlated with hatred
Cuz today I’ve flipped the scripts,
And being a nigga to me means something sacred.

Ironic, isn’t it?
Your Lord and Savior was an African, I know that provokes your lividness
So that makes him a Nigga too, unless you’re hypocrites?…
I don’t like naming names, but a lot of us have accumulated some fame
Harriet, Fredrick, Booker, Rosa, Madame, Malcolm, Martin
All great people. And were all called the same thing.
And their hardships endured weren’t all in vain
Even though we’re still known as Nigga
Blacks have been and still are essintial assets in the growth and development of the world
….Go Figure
So when I’m called one out of anger I don’t let it shatter my pride
I hold my head high and respond…
