Golden Review- The Island

You start by seeing all of the special effects in the movie, which are amazing I might point out. The realism is well done. These people wake up around the same time, they all dress the same, they all wear the same brand, guys black stripe on jump suits, girls light blue stripe. You get the picture. Basically, there is a little twist in this boring plot. The one thing I noticed about this movie, however, is how much emphasis they put on the visuals. They are absolutely stunning. The details are amazing and the thought they put into the story is nice to see with so many holes in plots now a days. One person starts to question their existance, and this goes into the whole plot. Of course the love thing is still in there. Overall the plot is kind of boring, but it hasn't been seen in a movie for a while, so it was ok. The acting in this movie was well done. I felt that the actors and actresses acted their parts well, showing innoecence, and just convincing you they knew nothing about the world. The way the movie was carried out was your typical action movie. Lots of explosions and shattering glass. Though, the realness was good. Seeing cars go boom from huge iron dumb bells is always fun to watch. If you are into action movies, by all means go and see this movie. It will keep you on the edge of your toes, and you are never quite sure when the movie ends. If, however, you are more into the original plot lines and never been done before movies, you will be disappointed. I would recommend people go see this movie, it is a good movie to see once, but I doubt you will want to see it again or buy the DVD. The thrill kind of wears off, and knowing what they are doing ruins the moment. There were some jokes, but nothing exceptional. Pro's: Good details, well thought out, good acting, and good special effects. Con's: Unoriginal plot, some questionable moments, some boring moments. 3 out of 5
