Hi, Was Bored. Here's My Ideals.
IP:
Hi. Shut the fuck up and read.
Once you get to an age, you consider two possible forks in lifes road. One, you can be independent. That is, self sufficient, proud and able to excel in life through the strengths of your own moral ideals. Two, you can follow the footsteps of the influential crowd of morons you grew up with, where being cool was in actuality degrading your self esteem while at the same time blaming society for the set back in life, that you alone created. I once thought there were more frivolous paths then the above. In actuality I find it extremely difficult to believe that any other choice exists. You either move on from the pecimistic view points of the tunnel vision thinking you associated with as a younger person. Or, you realize that lifes too fucking short. At that point you begin to think: Why? After which you either fall into depression or create an answer to the question that hounds your daily rhetorical thought process. Insight into this important decision and NECESSARY step in the evolution from peon to master begins with answering that one detremental electric zap from brain to motor function to action and reaction. Relization of this new found knowledge illeviates the need for the metaphorical crutch I like to call the rest of the population. Thinking about the most successful people you have ever actually really known, how many of them felt it necessary to do what they felt important MORE then what you felt important at the time. For example: they choose to finish there midterm final paper while you went and fucked the girl/guy of your high school dreams. Two months later they've graduated and are attending some university while you're working part time and taking make up courses because you failed to make the gpa required to attend any college. In short? Think ahead because in two days I'll be twenty years old, thats realistically 1/4 of my life. Gone. If you think procrastinating achievement for that moments pleasure is worth being on social security when you're 55 years old and still working at Save mart because that still isn't paying the bills. Then by all means forget you read this. If not? then this is what you need to do. Take assertive action and take control of your life. "Judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad jugment. The only way to strengthen your judgment is to keep expressing it." -Walter Wriston

20 is late to be having these realisations dude.. I'm 18 and none of this is new to me.. But look, basically its not two life paths, its two different types of people. There are people that can go through life climbing up the ladder in their chosen occupation and never make much of a mark in life.. And there are people who are more creative in their thought processes and the way their mind is set up. Both types have pros and cons and people who live strickly by the governments idealest system (Ie- schooling, university, an average paying job, saving up then starting a family) are usually more content with their simple life.. Where as people who are more creative and self supporting usually end up being the bosses of people who are in the other group because they are usually the big entrepenours, talented music artists, actors and all mannor of excentric profile types.. I recon I'm the latter.. I'm more of a creative person and I can say straight up school wasnt meant for me.. It wasnt because I was stupid, it was because I had no dedication to what they were trying to build me into. Especially near the end because I lost all interest and started comming into school drinking and selling guns.. It was rap that gave me direction though.. If I can give you any advice though man, is find something that your really interested in, and make a career out of it any way you can. Because by the sounds of what your saying, your probably fall into the same catagory as I do.. Correct me if I'm wrong.. |

As i sit here,i agree with most of what you just said....i have to say some things though...there are two types of people, the ones who take action every time they have a good cognitive thought/plan/idea to put into action to better their lives, the ones who sit and think up all these great ideas but never act on them due to their own restrictions...biggest one being laziness/procrastination/lack of self worth..but mainly laziness holds these people back. Then the people who actually work hard to put these thoughts into action by any means neccessary to better their lives, who end up doing everything they've ever dreamed of and whatnot, big or small goals, you get the idea. The only way to ever really get what you want or do what you want, you have to act on it. There is always a way to do things or go places you've always wanted to. And that means being independent and not worrying about things you have no control over, and just going for "it" whatever 'it" is.....i'm the person that works hard for it..so yea, great thread man..1

If you had ended that post with a quote from the 42nd President of the United States of America, that would be perfect. Personally, I came about these realizations at an extremely early age. I then decided I need to be successful, and do something successful, like being the leader of the best country in the world. You to, my fellow American, can lead the country with the heart of a lion. Please, read my book if you have any more questions regarding me, the 42nd President of the United States of America.

I agree with what you're all saying. Here is a quote from the book I’m reading "Metaphysics" By Aristotle: "We assume that the more controlling science is wiser than the subservient; for the wise man is a ruler rather than a subject, and he should not be under another, since the less wise should obey the wiser." In accordance with the latter I can establish my reasoning for the above post (looking at it as "Less wise" being the mundane analogy of Thinking but not Acting [which isn't thinking!], and "Wise" being those who take action.) that is, of course, just my opinion.
I don't agree with the thought about society's wormhole, so-to-say. I believe that School can be used to mold a person who lives by "the governments idealist system" as well as one who does not. Knowledge is power, and basic human instinct combined with common since acquired early in life forces humanity to expand and logically the easiest way to do that would be through schooling. You could say it plays a neutral part. Correct me if im wrong.

Would metaphysics in the local library? It sounds like something I'd be interested in.. As for the second paragraph of your post.. I dont think you understood me because your basically saying what I said in a different way.. See schools give you the basics, you need to learn how to read and write early, you need to learn how to interact with people.. You need to learn problem solving skills, etc.. But as soon as you hit highschool it changes. School becomes more for qualification and to prep you for working life.. Thats where it can mold you either way, kids can either choose to go down the regular path that the "governments idealist system" (I'm using that term lightly remember) wants for you ot for a minority of people that are more creative or more street smart than book smart the most a school can do for you is art programs, either way, it still plays a big part in molding your character.. The only reason I graduated was because pretty much no one else in my family had done it and I set it as a goal.. Eternal knowledge is the key bro.. But did you know Einstein used to wag school to study on things he was more attuned to? I see it as more of a benefit than a bad thing. |
