man, if i dig a cd ill buy it, but if the rapper, no matter who he is, tries to make a single, then make the rest of the album retarded, Fuck You, they dont deserve the money, and its hard to find cds from back in the day, but if it is truly a good cd wit atleast 90% of the songs top notch ill try to get money to buy it, if it doesnt met that standard, fuck you, ill dl it and burn it, just to NOT support they ass, like i did to DA BAND, fuckin wack ass fools

Damn, if you just read what I post you'll see that I AM supporting the artists. And yes, Pair, there are more than five labels in the world, but there are also tons of artists on the five major labels that most people have never heard of yet. Support them too. As for the other labels, it's not like many of them end up at the record stores anyway. You have to seek them out, which is also easier to do online, but that's another story. Any of you who haven't already done so should just check at least one of these subscription services out first before you immediately decide they're all shit. You might as well at least get familiar with them since they're going to be everywhere in a very short period of time. Besides, most of them give you a free trial period so it's not like you have anything to lose. Here's the one I'm using-->http://www.bestbuy.com/rhapsody.

I'm tired of these fucking arguments....
Personally, I think most of the CD's are overpriced, but I'll still buy them

I'd rather have the real thing instead of some bootleg shit I don't even know is the real deal.

I only burn CD's that are nearly unattainable and out of print, like Music For Earthworms, Three Phase Irony, and Appleseed

Sunavu...

I was waiting for someone to stand up and put an end to that "Support the Artist, buy the CD" bullshit.

Anyone that knows any scheiße about the music industry knows that artists don't get money from the albums they make. They really don't. The corporation that owns them gets the money, because they owe them due to the fact that all the money put into everything from productions and promotions are bought with the money of record sales. So buy buying a record, you're not supporting the artist, you're giving money to the industry that OPPRESSES the artist.

Hell, even Chuck D (And if you don't know who the fuck he is, get the fuck out.) has stated on more the one occasion, even so far as to stand up to congress, in support of downloading music. P2P means Power to the People.

Go ahead and buy music, if you want to oppress the artist. You're only part of the problem.

Most artists signed to a major record label only make something like 15¢ per record sale.

But Necromancer, would that apply to artists who are basically independent. I could be wrong though, I haven't looked into it.
