I don't see it as degrading, more like "exploiting ignorance".

And I know you don't know me, and I understand that I may seem a little bit irritable, but I don't really think it'll afect someone in their life outside of the internet. It's all good though, everyone has an opinion, and I respect that you didn't act too irrationally in stating yours.

But you gotta admit, I'm nowhere near as much of an asshole as some people on this site, lol.
