Who actually preforms?

I mean outside of the internet, who actually practices their craft ie; poetry, rapping, producing?
i do shows at various nite clubs in the DC metropolitan area. and i frequent poetry slams and open mic nites as well. i've recorded in actual studios and am preparing an album now to release independantly. just wanna know who takes this as more than just a hobby
