All Eyes On Drama Queen, by diman

IP:

welcome yall, ive noticed much respect is direceted at
RV regular Drama Queen. a well known and wise
addition to our net community. i had her answer a few
questions of interest and a few contraversial issues that
are currently spreading from forum to forum. enjoy...

* DQ enters, sits & waves at screaming fanatic (anxiety)

diman: The name written on your birth certificate.

DQ: Jessie Goessens

diman: Why the name drama queen ?

DQ: I chose the name because one of my friends once called me that due to my rather explosive temper. I wouldn't call myself a drama queen per se, for instance I don't act all dramatic when one little thing goes wrong. But I have to admit I can make a fuss over a situation sometimes...sometimes though...
I use the name because I think the abbrevation (DQ) has something special, I chose it a while ago and just stuck to it I suppose.

diman: Do you practice your love for
hip hop places other than the net?

DQ: No because I feel I am not ready to take that step at the moment. I still consider myself a noob in the rap game for I have yet so much to learn and so I give myself the time to grow as a person as well as an artist. I will definitely go there when the time is right but I haven't reached that, not yet. Not rushing anything is in my opinion the best thing to do, I allow myself to progress at my own pace and we'll see what the future holds.

diman: “who’s vet and who’s not ?” the
veteran dilemma, is rap verse’s most common
lure for beef and battling. What would you
advise to those who daily jump into this whirlpool?

DQ: First of all, I want to mention that I strongly dislike labels such as vet, wack or newbie for they sometimes restrict a person's ability to show what they're capable of (this is the case with the last two for instance). I don't feel the urge to label people as vets because where do you draw the line? And is it even worth drawing a line or beefing over? I personally don't think so, I do realize that members that have been here longer are looked upon differently than new ones but everyone deserves a chance of course. I do not judge people based on their record or post count, what they say and what they do is more important to me than the label others put on them.

Another thing are those self-proclaimed vets, I find that so idiotic because when people respect you or like what you show, you will know and they will tell you. There is no need for you to say it yourself but that's just me I guess. An advice for newbies is the following: stay on the low in the beginning. Just drop your pieces, battle but do not post idiotic threads or beef with anyone. Read a lot of other battles and open mics, if you want to post in LL please post somewhat intelligent things instead of the sort of things that make more respected members think: *sigh* another newbie/herb/...Certainly don't be cocky, you can be confident but don't push it. If you got talent or interesting things to say, others will notice eventually. Just be patient.

diman: It seems so many members respect
your demeanor, which RV members influence
the way you play the game?

DQ: I don't like to name certain people for I feel any member on here has the possibility to influence me in some way, whether it be positive or negative. However there are certain people on here that influenced me more than others already, for instance the more experienced or respected topical heads (I don't think names are required here). I enjoy reading their pieces and their various styles had a bit of influence, I learned a lot by just reading pieces, battles, open mics, poetry...Also other femcees (again no names are required I think) influence me because I feel they are healthy competition and make me bring out my best so as to keep up with them. Then last but not least there are some members on here with such a great intelligence when it comes to life and music, I have learned so much from them and some even influenced me outside rap but in my life in fact.

diman: thank you DQ for your much
appreciated opinions and thoughts, im
sure we will all reflect in a positive manner.
thanks again queen. see you round.

*it gets better...
