blame my attitude on the streets// blame my moves on the beats// you can point your little finger but more point back at you// so blame it on the emotions that I put you through// I taught you the way of the world I taught you how to live// I taught you how to fight but this was all I had to give// I made sure that you were safe in the world you couldn't trust// I made sure you burnt those bridges when you ran out of lust// ~child~ You took me away so many times// From all I held dear all of my crimes// My friends would have fun while I had to help clean// I couldn't help but wonder how you could be so mean// You gave me curfew's and rules that deminshed my reputation// People made fun of me at school because you and your illiteration// ~Mother~ If that's how you feel then be on your own// Find a way to support yourself and build your own home// You can always come back once you realise the rules// I will always be your mother but never your fool// So pack your bags and be on your way// and dont come running back at least for antoher day// you need to learn your lesson and its going to hurt me// but it will teach you life and sanity// ~child~ That was the fight we had the last night I ever saw her face// and it took me years to realise no one would take her place// some say it was a heart attack some say it was a night theif// But I will always remember that night and how she died from grief// It taught me a lesson just like she said// I wish I would have returned though, before my mother was dead// I'll try harder with my own child I'll hold them tight// But I know everything will repeat all back to that night// Last edited by AngelicSheShe : 04-02-03 at 03:53 PM. |
