Jean Grae - for being the first female to show that women have skills too, and arent just sex icons in hip-hop - she's better than most male emcees around

yea because Bahamadia, MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill, Roxxzne Shante never exzisted. even before jean grae was know as jean grae (she used to be named What What when she was with Natural Resource) she wasnt the first. lol newjack, go home.

i respect jean but saying she is the first only shows how much of a "i just started listening when em came out" you are

^Lmao..True

Jean Grae is dope, and her new L.P and everything..But Roxanne Shante was there before Women started to be sex icons.

2pac-he never sold out, ever, stayed real, was a pretty nice person except against his enemies, hes sold the most albums in rap and hip-hop history, he has a collage named after him, tons of books and movies on him, n made his last album in three days, not seven, he actually finshed recording and makin beats in 3, and he produced it 2
Jedi Mind Tricks-Some of the nastiest beats ive ever herd, not a sell out, just a great rapper
Outlawz- Pac's group they also had it down.
Nas- stays real not 2 commercial, one of tha greateset stopry tellers of all time
Outkast- definately the weirdest group ot there, but also one of the best, alwayz had their own style
there r more but i still foget

Imma juss pick one ... And for that one it's simple for me ...

OutKast ... Brought a whole new look at hip hop and juss changed wat niggas thought it was ... And are still doin' it ... So I got the most respect for them in the game ...

Forgot about MC Lyte and Lauryn Hill... never heard of the other two...

well, i guess i got owned

It's that stupid Immortal Technique, first time I heard Jean was on his cut "The Illest"... and i hadnt really been looking for any good female artists at the time, so i wrongly assumed she was the only one... oh well

Tech N9ne-Because even though he gets screwed constantly, he continues to "Keep on Keepin' On"....lol. He is one of the best in my mind.
DMX-The guy is awesome... c'mon. I don't care what he puts out, I respect him.
Eminem-He faces all the criticism and hate, and just spits in their faces and laughs. He's a great MC and has an awesome career ahead of him.
KRS-One-He continues to put out his stuff even as he gets older. He's not as popular as he once was, but he's just doing it now to let everyone know he's not getting worse.

canibus-for obvious reasons
Jus Allah-His lyrics are what got me into hip-hop in the first place, that somewhat 3rd plane style he has, like he is rappin from another dimension, thats just how i see his lyrics.
Rakim-also for obvious reasons
atmospher-cause his beats are ill
