Our President

You cheated your way into office.
Your evil, lying, deceitful smirk covered
your face every time you flashed
across the screen.

In no time at all, you managed to tick
off a country that was dictated by a
crazy an unstable man. Put us on the brink
of a nuclear war.

9/11…it was an emergency, drove
away the Taliban. Couldn’t find the
one responsible, so you blamed the
next most dangerous man. He wasn’t
involved in the least, you know it, but
you continue to say he did.

Weapons of Mass Destruction…
Its your reason for war.
Your reason for the brutal
killing of thousands of innocent
people who never bothered us.

You even lied to your own people.
You told us that they were buying
nuclear chemicals from other countries
but you knew when you said it, that it
was a lie. We found out, and exposed
you for the liar that you were, again
you managed to evade criticism. You
blamed it on the editors but they had
told you that it was untrue.

Over and over we searched their many
compounds, and over and over we left
the same way. Empty handed.

You claimed that oil wasn’t a main priority.
If that’s true, then explain why
every time they show the news, all they
talked about was how we captured yet
another Iraqi oil field.

This war has put us a trillion dollars in debt
and you want the average middle working
class to pay for it, while your rich oil mongering
friends sit comfortably, not having to pay
a dime.

So scared of criticism, now that its election year
you having T.V stations censor out any commercial
that isn’t in your favor.

Time for you to make another trip down to Florida.
Make sure those machines are rigged and ready to
cheat your way into another term in the White House.

Its incredible what our country has come to. A point
where we can have the audacity and the nerve to allow
a lying, thieving, cheating, power-hungry crook to run
our country? Despite all this, and him in all his ignorance
he still bears the title of “Our President”

i think this is a gud poem but it is also a huge political discussion that some people cud fight about, it also brings many things to the atention of people who don't know it.

A bit controversial but then again everything to do with the war is. I think the way you expressed your anger is great. The same thing is happening here in England as well. The Government are saying there was nuclear weapons of some sort but haven't found them yet.

this was a nice read
it seems more like a speech or something you'd use to defend yourself in a debate
than a poetry piece, but it was still a good representation of your feeling on the subject
