bieng brokes the worst feeling/
yall had roofs over ya heads, my room was missing the ceiling/
fish tanks bigger than our t.v./
listen to my favrite rappers on bootleg c.d.s/
belive me, roman noodles made eating easy/
cars packed, only a two seater/
not enough blankets to share so i splept next to the heater/
$5 tees were hard enough to come by/
when we got spolied neccesties went bye bye/
for our money we had to steal and out wit/
shared lil bro's clothes to have more than one outfit/
undertand you couldnt walk in my shoes they harldey fit/
dads herion needles were only things in the first aid kit/
undrstand its the truth being spoken/
cuz the only cions in my pocket were a couple bus tokens



Now how can they be sayin "fuck the poor"
Even that "bum" on the street livin in the alley
while they ridin top down
million doller house in Cali

So lemme start to paint u a dark picture
of a single mother locked in the struggle
tryin to raise her son humble
yet she workin her jobs double
workin her ass off cuz daddy aint commin home soon
tryin to put better shit on the table, other then food
so now tell me what wud u do?
are u gettin the mood?
my mom anit ever said life wud be easy
but she also neva said it wud b so cruel

Im spittin sumthin real quick for the gangsta nigs who hussle
they anit killin and slangin for fun they also locked in this struggle
tryin to get they rent in on time
sellin in quantites of nickles and dimes
growin up wit a popz who either was dead, neva there, or locked up
all they thug niggaz dyin, so all theres nuttin left to do but hold they glocks up
teachers give up cuz they rockin white tees, hairs braided, and they hats low
that anit right tho, we like every1 else and got the same blood flow

who put his life on the line to support me and my mother
