welcome to avenue ten, your home right after eviction,
got you needin cash, gots to make some money for livin,
considered yourself a thug, but think back dawg, real slow.
what really happened, you aint big ballin no more, God no.
so you said you shot somebody, well alright, who then?
what was his name, was you and him some childhood friends,
who spent the first years of life, homies havin’ eachothers back,
and near the end of his life, you went to shoot him in the back,
of an alley way basked in black, where you lived for some days,
wishing you could see sun, giving in to get out someday,
so you see a man, you didn’t look at his face and went behind,
tucked your arm under his chin, and jammed his skull to a nine,
shoved that fucking gun to his head saying out some shit,
he choked out of breath, gasping feeling that gun tipped,
you pulled out his wallet, took a hundred or so from the pocket,
scared of your witness, so you put the gun to his back and shot it.
later living in a cheap motel, for a couple of days before leave,
you decided to feel a little bad, so you turned up the tv.
bit your lip a bit, as you teared up when watching the news,
as they reported your best friend found dead in the 10th Avenue.
