Rapper 50 Cent is planning an American Idol style talent show to find a new member for his Hip Hop/Rap group G-Unit.
"I should actually do a show like that 'cos I have a really good eye for talent. I could find a new member, and record the whole process." Said 50 Cent. Two week ago 50 won six trophies at the US Billboard Awards in Las Vegas on Tuesday night after he led the shortlist with eight nominations. source: http://www.rapweekly.com/news.asp?id=382 he better come 2 Halifax. my ass would = there, werd

I respect 50 for branching out into as many markets as he possibly can.. Games, movies, TV, radio.. Now an Idol show that is bound to get a lot of media attention and create more fans...
But............. What 50 really needs is to get himself a fucking ill ghost writer to boost his respect levels even if its just for a few tracks on each album.. If he could show off a bit of skilled lyricism once in a while I dont think i'd have much of a problem with him.. See cause 50 is all up in the mainstream.. He can put out whatever and make it sell just cause of his name.. If he started droppin tracks with sick lyricism and meaning, he is in the position that he probably could make a change.... Too bad hes an ignorant conceded industry cocksucker who only cares about fattening his own pockets... |

never thought of that, but ur right nos and 50's already signed mobb deep, and banks is imo the best punchline rapper right now so maybe he is tryin to make a change in the industry i dont think he even needs a ghostwriter, all he has to do is go back to his original style, go back to the power of the dollar 50 cent |

NOS and X, you could say the same thing for any rapper that's gone platinum and topped the charts in the last 5 years with more than one album, in fact I've said that shit so many times before...but people never listen to me *smh* Jay-Z and Eminem could say whatever they want on albums and people will still buy that shit, but they don't use their popularity for anything "real" or "meaningful" in my opinion...they follow the trend and don't say anything that matters, even Jay-Z himself doesn't deny that he "dumbed down" to "sell more records"...they ALL do it and if they dind't it'd force other people to up their lyricism, but still, nobody does it... it's like they don't understand the true impact their popularity has on listeners unless it has to do with dollars...they will take responsibility for "influencing" a young artist but hate to take that same responsibility when some kid says they did something bad as a result of their music, but if they encouraged positive things it wouldn't be an issue...you can't pick and choose how you influence people that listen to your music, people interprit things differently but they could avoid a lot of negative connotations if they really wanted to, and take resposibility for influencing listeners...in fact, if they DIDN'T influence people, then people wouldn't keep on buying their damn music

that's prolly true too, but my P.O.V. is if you don't respect the art, why are you tryina whore that art?...that's like Kobe Bryant saying "Jordan sucks" then him not playing his hardest for himself or his team to win but when some college kid says "Kobe is my idol" he think he's big shit cuz of it, but ignores what Jordan did for the game |

It's bad when people tell you to get a ghostwriter and not say that's for fakes. -_-
