You don't have to produce if you're a Dj.. How many tracks do you see Q-bert producing?

Watch the scratch documentary before you speak on Dj'ing.. Not one person on this site (except maybe Nec because he's just knowledgeable in everything) would know the slightest thing about the culture.. We don't just spin discs and scratch.. There's far more to it..

im sure there are plenty of people on the site who can spin, scratch, juggle, mix and everything else that goes along with dj'ing, its not the hardest thing to learn, lol. Took me about 3 months to be able to mix my beats into eachother, was scratching within the month, still working on smoothing out my juggling.. but ive only had my tables for about 4 months, it ain't that hard...

More n more commercial rap beats r produced entirely using computers. There are still sum beat makers out there (xcutioners) who r making beats purely using turntables but they r becoming fewer and fewer. Nowadays Scratches r added in a seperate track the same as other instruments but just make up a small part of the entire beat. Name any major producer, they all work mostly on computers. That's just where the industry is going because of record companies demanding a higher level of sound quality from rap producers.

people people, your missing some important part about Djing. He doesnt use F*cking turntables just for scratchin. If he's got cash, He puts Music on to Vinyl, plays it on a F*ckin turntable and gets another turntable with a LP drops it off and mix's with the current playing song.... Thats the truth about DJ's... But today alls they got to do is get a Dual Cd Player that what? plays 2 cds at the same time. also come with built in Tempo control... and a Synthetic Scratch effect with spins the disc to make the simulation. Now I dont kno what all this BS is on TV that you see, but a dj does more work than you see.... Dre and everyone else really Hazed things up. The scratchin is really just another funky way to mix a song in. I really hope this clarifies things for you on the DJ part

actually the ones created of PC are the ones that are wak. Lemme refrase what i wanted to say about scratches, With a dual cd player, the control to scratch really does the samething like you would for a turntable, but you arnt toutching the CD yourself, equipment is spinnin the disc electronically to make the same sound.

A produser over sees all the work in a track vocals to beats and a dj just works with the scratch table.
