Yeah i agree wit what SV and Premo were sayin there in the beginning... no use in retyping it all...
But basically - true he has frequently used biggie lines BUT he admits that, hes sed all along in tracks and interviews that he does it as a mark of respect, jay doesn't need to bit, think about it & jay admits that he does it for the newer generation of uninformed hip-hoppers to be familiar with the legends and/or greats "old" lyrics.....i.e., biggy and pac...etc. its meant to promote their albums and legacy's. & Most of those lines from songs other than biggie and pac and shit that he admits to arent even real bites... its just bullshit so u cant really use that to support ur point... he's a legend......

^^^ hahahaha........ but anyways, its NOT biting, its respect in some ways, but even i do that, like ill say part of a line or a line from old song hopin people notice..... and its usually Biggie shit too... and yea, HOPIN they notice.... and if Jay is a biter, than so is EM, i think EM has "bit" way more songs than Jay-z.... hes always sayin old school hip hop shit durin his verses like from KRS-one and D.E.F. all the time... i juss dont really consider it biting wen it seems like he's doing it on purpose for people to realize, and to "big up his brother"

there we go....... he flipped the lines...... didnt really bite em in alot of cases..... and its funny cuz one of the "bites" was on the SAME song...... it was a song/freestyle (i cant remember which) that he did with Biggie.... there actually are a couple that im like "OK, that could be a straight up bite" but most are juss flips.... and ive heard that "Cuz i see sum ladies tonight that should be havin my baby" flipped and "bit" by like 4 others....... if your a true emcee...write your own fuckin shit and stop using other peoples EXACT WORDS...if jay-z wants to "big up his brother" or any old legends...why dont you flip what they said and make it all different words like eminem did to some old rakim lines...he didnt copy it word for word like jay-z did...but he changed every word and still related it to rakims verse with the concept...jay can do that...or maybe hes too dumb so he wants to "live their legend" with word for word lines instead of re-inventing new ones

I heard this a few times... It is very interesting. Jay is an amazing lyricist no doubt, but alot of the lines like the Nas and Pac joints are wack.
