as far as I know, no...they can't knowingly endanger you to the extent of suicide missions...American life is much too valuable for the military to start doing suicide missions in that reguard...high risk, yes but suicide missions, no...that isn't sanctioned by the U.S. government |

Yes, your commanding officer can legally order you to death, unless you order him to his first.

Ok....I just got on so I'll answer this the best way I know how.
Yes, your commanding officer can order you to do whatever the hell he feels like doing. However, you can refuse a lawful order that is immoral. How to determine if an order is unlawful is a hard task. If you obey an immoral, lawful order you are subject to the consequences of your actions as well as your commander. For example......your commander says "Hey PVT Fuckup, go in there and kill all those nigger babies cause I hate their black skin." Now, this is a lawful order, but as you can clearly see, this is very immoral. He is basing his whole reason for you killing people on his hate for a certain race. If you carry out this order, you are held liable. If you refuse this order, you will get shit from your commander for the rest of the time you are in his or her command. Basically, if you are told to do something that is morally wrong, you are in a lose/lose situation. I'm guessing that this would fall into the catagory you were asking about. It is morally wrong to order someone to their undeniable death unless they will undeniably die anyway. If you are put in front of a firing squad and your commander chooses you to make a distraction for the rest of the unit to escape, then he is doing his job to save lives..... So basically, you have to read each situation differently. If you are ordered to do a kamikaze mission or a suicide bomber mission, you can legelly refuse, but you will still be under the same superiors for a while.....so it basically sucks ass ![]()
