i can def. see him becoming like Eric Snow. Rondo's defense isn't quite as good as Snow's was tho. and i can't say that i see it getting much better unless he learns to control his energy and feed it into certain area's...i.e. defense, taking open shots. I guess i dont see our arguement anymore, because i stated that the teams with better point gaurds usally win in the playoffs. Than you came out of no were with a Billups refernece. N now we both agree that Rondo is a good player that is growing on a pretty good team, and that he isn't as over rated just because he has good talent around him....correct?? ![]()

Yea, I agree. Game 5 against Cleveland was a glimpse. Dude was crazy. I also think Doc Rivers is not coaching the Celts right. How he handles his bench and everything, iunno. Put a better coach for this celtics team i think they easily could have eclipsed 72+ wins and not struggled in play-offs. As one of Boston's most passionate fans, I think Bill Simmons explains it perfectly here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page...=simmons/080530 also check out his article about Garnett not being clutch player (which i agree)

If Boston wins tonight, it'll be the Finals that I thought it would be. I'm eager to see Boston pull it out and win, but the Lakers keep proving that they can come back from devastating losses. I think it'll be a real good series that will probably go to 7 games

Nah, I was just saying that I thought Billups was a better point guard than Rondo and the Celtics are winning which isn't helping your logic. Anyway, we do agree on Rondo though and I think with the determination and discipline, he could be even better than Eric Snow was cause he's got one leg up on Snow......his speed

wait wait wait....
Billups + Good = Pistons loosing Rondo + Mediocre = Celtics winning n all i ever said was that usally the team with a point gaurd who is playing better...which obviously Rondo is playing better than Billups, RIGHT NOW, not overal carrer. Billups is hurt, dude hasn't been playing much. Stuckey is leading the Pistons much more than Billups is regardless.

Ahhhh......I see what you're saying now. I totally agree with you. To win, your point guard has to be on his game, whatever his role is. Rondo is definitely playing his role better than Billups is in this series which is leading to the Celtics winning. The games he sucked in during the series with the Cavs, West was beasting and the Cavs won, so I can see your logic

^^ you can see how pivotal a point gaurd really is to a team. Look at the Cav's...lol.
n honestly, if you want to know who the best point gaurd of all time was....its Magic. N in comparionson to playing styles, Lebron should be a point. He plays like Magic, not like Jordan.

I disagree with that Lebron comment. I think he needs a more natural point guard, move either Gibson or West to the 2 Guard and have Lebron the Small Forward/3rd Guard. He does better at moving without the ball cause when he was bringing the ball up against the Celtics, he was handled a lot easier than when he was roaming around without the ball. I can respect the argument though, cause I would have thought the same thing if I didn't see it not working.
It might not have worked against the Celtics because they were the best defensive team this year, so I wouldn't mind seeing them try it again against some other teams ![]() He does play a lot like Magic though.....

i read the article...but he doesn't give very good examples, in specific games. He talks about how he looks flustered and blah blah blah in Alanta game 7. That he is over anxious. Thats bullshit, if i wrote a paper specifically about how great he was in the clutch the same way this dip shit wrote it...than it would look the other way around.
*disclamier* I like Garnett, and i think highly of him, but he aint my favorite player...i just think that article is way one sided and highly misinforming

well it's true. And he said Game 6 of Cavs series. And same could be seen in game 7. You saw Paul Pierce, he turned his game up a notch when it's clutch time. Same with Lebron. Kobe did it last night. Garnett doesn't have that. Like the article says, he plays the same as he does in the beginning of the game in crunch time. Great players turn it up a notch when it's crunch time. I mean, he can hit those crazy jump shots when it doesn't matter. But how many game winners have you seen him hit? He doesn't want the ball then it seems like.
and don't say he's a big man, he shouldn't bhe taking those shots. Well all game long he keeps taking them, and wanting it. Why should it be any different at crunch time?
