If the country is told that we are at war and need to ration resources, then of course the country is going to decrease spending on those resources because it is the patriotic thing to do.

Since when does the President need the publics approval for war. We do not put war on a ballot open to the public, understand. The president has power granted via exceutive order to wage war and commit troops for a period of time even with out permission or blessing from congress. Congress votes on war, and the secret vote was already in beofre bush went to war. All the senetors running for the spot on the left conriticted themsleves by voting for war, and now they are taking different side. How hyprocritical is that, they voted for war prior to the attack, yet now because they want to run for president they claim war is wrong.
