I've liked rap and hip hop since I was 7. Yeah I liked MC Hammer and all that, but the song that really got me interested in rap was "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" by Bone Thugs N' Harmony. In 1999, I tried my hand at writing my own raps. Needless to say, they weren't too good, but people thought it was cool that I tried. I had a few classes with this kid Damarcus, who also rapped. We formed a little group along with like 2 other kids, and he basically taught me how to rap. From then to now I just kept at it, and gradually improved. I started recording around 2001, just half-assing pretty much. But as I improved, I started taking it more serious. I learned what I could and couldn't rap about, so I had to switch up my style to avoid being "fake". The last time I saw Damarcus was back in 2000. He was shot dead and passed away Easter of 2003, r.i.p.
But yeah, that's the jist of it. I was just a kid who tried to rhyme, and put enough effort into it to eventually adapt the skill. Maybe I was born with it though, I'm not sure.

ive not even been donig it long...
i started textin in 04... when i furst came to this site, i elevated n shit... didnt really take it serious just for a mess about when i was bored n had nothing else to do... then i got my mic... started rapping lol... but my quality wasn't the greatest of things so i wasn';t motivated to make tracks at all... so i stopped for a bit, got my new mic n been donig it ever since... n thats only bout 5-6 months so ive not even been rapping for a long perios of time.... but i'm starting to get really serious about it.. talknig to lablresd n getting my mixtape done... |

I been spitting shit since 1996. My older brother started DJing after Reasonable Doubt dropped. I used to kick shit over his drum machine. I was younger and just did it to fit in for about 8 months. Then I noticed that I actually enjoyed making music. Been doin it ever since.

i honestly used to listen to hammer and ice back in the day...but was never really that much into rap....
my dad owns a studio...so a couple yrs ago i figured itd be cool if i tried to write a rap...it was horrid...it was in like....2002 i dropped like 5 tracks within the next couple years lol.... i got serious about it this summer...so ive only been at it for like 4 months.... lol and im still better than Tha Q......whos been serious since 03 my music in 4 months > his in 2 years

i started rapping because i was plastered at a party and all these kids thought they could battle ... well the way my friend described it was a world war I machine gunner.... they kept throwing people and i took em out... but i don't battle that much anymore... cuz of college and all but i'm goin home soon battle and smoke some

I'd been rapping on and off since i was young. but then one time during sports day when i was in like year 10 (UK) (=9th grade (US)) some dude was tryna battle people and he talked some shit when he was spittin. he dropped my name in his verbal shite, so i grabbed the opportunity to show him up....people were stunned cos until then only one person (who'd been round my house to DJ with me on a mix tape like a week before) had heard me. but i only first got into a studio last year cos there's a studio in the music technology department at my college
