.....ok, lol, so you just stated that the dude players at the highest level of intesity he can all game long. -correct

other players that are 'clutch' turn it up, during ...clutch time - correct

^^ that would also mean that other players aren't playing their best at all times.

Garnett is the most consistent player on the court at all times. Its rare for him NOT to have a huge game. So if Sam Cassel dropped 40 tonight in game 6, and Garnett drops 25...but gets 15 rebounds, does that make him less clutch?? No.

your associating points with clutch, not taking into account rebounding, defense. Think about how many times Garnett fills the lane and forces other players on the floor to take shitty shots. Thats not clutch??

Dawg, if you weren't an eclipse owner I'd wanna slap the fuck out of you for that response.

What I'm saying is, if you're an athlete, and play ANY SPORT, when it comes down to crunch time, you know you have to step it up. It doesn't matter if you're playing 100% all game long or 150%, every great player will step it up still. I'm saying Kobe. Last night, he plays his heart out all game. But don't even THINK About telling me that Kobe plays the same level in the first half then when there is less than 2 mins left and it's a close game. There is no comparision. Same with Michael Jordan, same with Lebron James, etc. the point the article was making was, Garnett doesn't seem to be one of those players that tries to step it up.

and it's true, Garnett looks lost when he has the ball late in a clutch situation. Whether it's from inexperience in pressure moments, or whatever it is, who knows. But he doesn't seem to shine in pressure situations.

your arguement about boards and altering shots is pointless. Because I haven't seen him step it up either in that. I've watched every Celtics game this play-offs (rooting for them to lose ~_~) and in EVERY close game, I have yet to see Garnett Step up and take over the game in the closing minutes. It's either Pierce or Allen, or sometimes PJ Brown LOL, but i haven't seen Garnett do anything.

Prove me wrong. You're stating things he COULD do. show me stats, or show me instances where he DID do those things.

and since I'm a Kings fan i'd know this very well. (Kings lost to T-Wolves in a 7 game series (forget yr))

But Garnett didn't do SHIT game 7 down the stretch. Or whole series down the stretch. It was sam Cassel and I THINK sprewell. I forget. But it was Sam Cassel.

also look @ chris webber. before his injury, dude was a BEAST during the game, but choked crunch time. (michigan time out shit, all the series with the Lakers, etc) fuck Webber.

Webber was a beast even in the crunch...the kings should have won alot of those series...they just didn't get the last shot.

ESPN's reaction....."They shoulda gave Wallace a techinal for throwing the towel on the camera"

I don't think you're gonna ever see a big man be the clutch player most people like. Garnett plays the same from the beginning of the game to the end, which is very well. He's probably the most consistent player in the NBA. He's not the kind of guy who is gonna run around without the ball searching out open shots. He's the kind of guy who sets up in the post, or runs the pick and roll. He's not geared for the traditional "clutch" player. That role is more geared towards guards who can run all over the place with the ball from one end of the court to the other and make the shot. Arenas might be the best clutch player of all time in my eyes, and guess what, he's a guard.

Just my opinion:

Duncan = best player on the Spurs
Parker/Ginobli = who the Spurs go to for a clutch play

Garnett = Best player on the Celtics
Allen/Pierce = who the Celtics go to for the clutch play

I could go on and on about it, but when it comes down to the wire, your guards are counted on to make the big play

exactly, i was about to bring up this point

if Spuls definetion was correct, than Shaq wasn't a clutch player

thats probably because..they need to drive into the lane and draw fouls..or make a three point shot...all in a quick manner...which of course..would be a guard role...not a big man..i hope thats what ur trying to say..cuz thats what i got out of it

That's pretty much what I was trying to say. When you're trying to make a comeback in "clutch" situations, you want more of the high rewarding shots than the high percentage shots. In the opposite situation, when you're up and trying to hold your lead, you want the high percentage shots

lol @ that logic. How many times have you seen jack up a shit load of three's when they are down by 20 in the 2nd quarter trying to get back into the game becuase of the 'high reward' and than loose. Instead, great teams alwyas take the highest percentage shots...like the Lakers did in game 1.

^wait what are you talking about? lol

and Enygma you're wrong. In a pressure game, crunch time wouldn't just be a last second shot. Yea, that's for your best shooter. I'm talking, like less than 8 mins or even sometimes entire 4th quarter. Duncan did that last night. He was trying to keep spurs in it. Even announcers were saying "This is the time for Duncan to be selfish, and take it to the hole" or some shit.

and Shaq WAS clutch. He'd still post up late in games, and either get his shots, or create openings with the doubles and triple teams he got.

Garnett really doesn't do that. Look @ game 5. Word he had 33 pts. BUT... his last fg of the game came with NINE minutes left in 4th. NINE. he missed like 4 or 5 jumpshots within that 9 mins. and then had like 2 fts made. You're telling me Celtics just needed their guards for that rest of 9 mins? noo...

and then tonight, there he is, only 10 pts. Game 7 v.s Cavs, only 13 pts.

I don't even know why you bring Shaq. Shaq consistently put down over 25 pts, play-offs or regular season in his prime.

I don't see Garnett doing all that.

and another reason you'd have weird logic my NYG enygma, is if Garnett is the Celts BEST player. What makes it eright for him to take a back seat when it's a close game in the 4th quarter? That's where he needs to take off and dominate inside, or with the jump shot. Late game last second situations, THOSE are for your best jump shooters. But Shaq, Duncan, they all step it up and that's who their respective teams look for down low to get that bucket in a back and forth contest.

You're mistaking what I'm saying bout being a clutch crunch time player with being a last second shooter.

^^ spul, i' just want to fuck your mouth...so that way you can see where i'm cumin from.

but you just stated that why would Garnett take a back seat in 'crunch time'......nigga wants to win. So he'll do whatever it takes, weather or not hes the last fool to take the shot...he's willin to take on the double teams and kick it out, not taking the last shot, but getting the guy who's taking the last shot a WIDE OPEN SHOT.

god damn it spul, you make me think you dont even own your eclipse...and that its just a lease

ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE JUST OCCRUED

if your watching the game...Garnett drove the ball...defense of course collapsed (1:35 left) He would have had to take a incrediablly hard shot. Whats he do, the better move, and passes the ball to Rondo. Rondo missed it, but the Garnett was aware enough and not selfish to pass it up
