mics for laptop

hey...i need a quick answer....are the mics tht yall use for audio proper like hand held mics....or jus those like tin things...cos i looked on net at pc world...for microphones....and ive got a laptop..and its just those kind tht u have at call centers n stuff...n the ones tht just sit on the desk and u speak into....can i use these..or do i need a proper hand held one...wot yall got..............and i know this is in wrong thread...but need quick answer..and need to know wich are the best......holla bk....

It dont matter really, Phenom uses one of those mics, listen to his audios.
And I'm gonna be using one of those mics most of the time, till I go to my studio.
