^^Shit, you can get interfaces from like 35 USD for a crappy one that dosen't control volume to like $160 for the dual-mic unit version to the one I have. I can pump my mic input vol to the max and barely hear any static at all (although I'll now be hearing my self breath, my watch clicking, my bracelet clicking, my pants rustling, the fan in my computer, my dog fart, my hair growing, etc. It's rediculously clear.

so if the mic plugs into the Interface.. then the interface plugs into a USB port..
how will cool edit or w/e pick up the sound if its not plugged into the soundcard... ?

^^ Cool edit reads it from the USB. Well at least it does on mine. But then again I started using Cubase, and it works better through that anyway.
