A person so special that for them, you'd trade the earth/
For one day in their arms, then surrender to the dirt/
One moment, one kiss, every temptation you would resist/
Just to see them smile once more, like past times, reminisced/
The reason you exist, is to keep a watchful eye/
On the one you cry for, every night, without fail, you'd rather die/
Than live this heartless life without them by your side/
So happy, in awe of your stunning luck, and yet so sad/
And frigtened, that you'll lose it all, that loneliness will drive you mad/
The brink of insanity draws nearer, as you hold them ever tighter/
Praying to God to keep them safe, praying that their a fighter/
Defending harm and suffering you strive to save the tears/
With one careful, loving hand, you wipe away all of their fears/
Jealous of other peers, you listen with open ears/
Telling them all the kindest things, you know they want to hear/
Your body is their temple, and your mind a sanctuary/
To hold them in your heart each day, you know is necessary/
And to wake each fading morning, with their body close beneath you..
The hardest pain in all the world, to lose the one who meant the world with you...


straight from the heart..i don't know about how it measured as an open mic..but the message matters most to me..when i wrote the last line, i was in tears..and if i had one wish..i would wish to have them safe with me..the Lord works in mysterious ways..why..why?
