I'll say... their creative.
But 50 definately should've got Best NewComer of the year. His album almost went platinum in one week and he had various hits. In comparison to "stereotypical white pop group" that won. That was bullshit. He's a G for walkin cross the stage n doin that. Its the truth. Grammies are bullshit.

yea but these award shows..especially the grammys are very media driven
and even though 50 deserved to win..best new comer his image probably hurt him more than anything. his street mentality, and thug image is not what the people who vote on these awards are looking for... for him to do so well last year and to not win onw award is kind of suprising... anyway..outkast represented well their performances were good, and they handled receiving the most prestigous music award with class....

Yeah...
I'll agree with OutKast... But fucka Fitty... He's cool and all... But it doesn't take that much talent to repeat hooks... And, seriously, that's all Fitty's music is... A series of good hooks, not much story involved. It's pop music in disguise. Get with reality.

no damn it. Go off record sells alone and 50 killed Evenascence. 50 almost went platinum in one week. The award wasn't "best skilled" new artist. It was New Artist of the year award. And 50 was bigger than eva... had more hits than eva... sold more records than eva... and impacted music more than eva... am I right or not? Of course 50 isn't the best rapper but you can't debate the fact that he had the largest NEW impact on music last year.

o man... like 98% of your post is opinion
he sold more records than them...but the "best new artist" category isnt about record sales... the commitee who chooses who receives the award consist of more than hip hop heads... EMINEM deserved the new artist award he won in 2001.... 50 may have sold a truckload of records, but thats not what its all about... Evanesance has a better sound than 50 cent in my opinion, 50 may have had alot of "hits" in the world of hip hop...but his only crossover hit was "in tha club"... evan had "bring me back to life"... a mega hit... that was played in almost every movie that came out last year...and on every new sitcom/drama on tv...lmao... he didnt get "robbed" of anything... evanesance deserved that award just as much as he did...

Why did they also win best rap album? Most of their songs are very popish, imo. Nevertheless, they are still a good band and deserve at least one grammy. 50 should've won best newcomer I agree.
