It's funny how society tells us not to "shove our lifestyles" down people's throats, when it's guilty of the same offense. Everyday, I wake up knowing I'm a stranger in a heterosexist land, a mutant amid normal citizens. What I don't understand is why I can't be myself as long as no one else is being affected. Why is it a man and a woman can walk down the street, holding hands and be viewed as showing affection? But, when two men do the same, they are considered "antagonistic" and overblowing discretion. What's the difference? Isn't what's good for the goose good for the gander? I'm sick of this bigoted world with its dual standards. I mean, I'll be honest, I'm curious about what it's like to be heterosexual. But, that's just the curiosity in me to experience everything in life conceptual. However, I stubbornly refuse to conform to society's norms just to be accepted. In that case, I would not be true to myself, and that's the message. That's just the issue I'm dealing with. Feeling sick of kneeling down to the oppressive rule of society. Why does it seem they take pride in denying me? They're providing me with the motive to explode on society. So, I ask, "why me?" Why be something that's not inside of me? I'm a man like the next man, trying to understand who I am, whom I can trust. And, who I am is more than who I touch hands with and fuck. Such tough luck follows me like a dog without a leash. I'm so confused, I don't even know who the fuck speaks. Shit...

hey Q... this was good shyt dawg... and definitely something that the world needs to hear. we accept change in so many things but when it comes to homosexuality every tries to turn a blind eye and act like it hasn't existed since the beginning of life. Out here in Iraq where religion started, it's actually a part of the culture... out here, women are for breeding and men are for everything else (truth)... we in western culture think it's the strangest thing in the world while those in the middle east actually embrace it... they show affection to each other everday... they greet each other with kisses... hold hands... and the only ones that look at them funny are Americans...
this is a very solid piece and extremely personal in nature... that's usually when true talent shines through... i admire your honesty and the emotion of this drop... everday i learn a lil something more about the world that we live in and i gain a better understanding of the people involved in it... thank you for keeping shyt real... not only to yaself but to the rest of us as well.... if more homosexuals weren't so afraid to stand up for themselves and more heterosexuals weren't so afraid of what's different then maybe we'd all be able to stand side by side and fight for the things that are really important like education for our children, homelessness, jobs, etc.... now with that said... since this is an OM i'd say that ya shoulda seperated ya lines... i thought this was a random thread at first until i got to about the middle of it... i re-read itand found the flow of the piece... the werds were nicely chosen and very effective... all lines lead into the next and it ended well... not a popular topic but one that is very necessary in today's world and also brings diversity to RV... again, great job on this ... keep doing ya thang! hip-hop don't discriminate...werd |
