Just found out about this today. I got a DUI about a week and a half ago and I am supposed to get back in the army on Dec 29th. My court date wouldn't have been until Jan 20.....and that was for the preliminary trial. I went and waived my preliminary hearing today so I could get everything done quicker. I talked to the DA and the only way I can get into the army before the 29th is to go and plead guilty on the 23rd, but then I will have to spend a mandatory 72 hours in prison. I know it doesn't sound like long, but I've never been to jail before. I was in a holding facility when I was a teenager but nothing more than about 4 or 5 hours.....this sucks. I don't think there is anything harder than turning yourself in......
