Jay-Z will expand his business empire with the addition of a second 40/40 Club, to be opened in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The rapper/mogul put out $4 million to open up a second location of his thriving, high-profile sports club, which was founded in New York City. The 40/40 Club’s Atlantic City branch will open its doors and roll out the red carpet on Oct. 1, in a shopping and entertainment district called The Walk. The multi-level club will be located at the end of the Atlantic City Expressway, just one block away from Caesars Atlantic City.

Las Vegas and Los Angeles were options that the Def Jam President passed up as sites for his second sports club.

“I wanted to be part of the building up of Atlantic City,” Jay said during a recent press conference.

The 40/40 name honors one of the most exclusive clubs in all of sports - baseball players who have hit 40 home runs and stolen 40 bases in the same season. The only players to accomplish the difficult feat are Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and Jose Canseco.
