Heres their list:
1. Rakim & Eric B. - Paid in full 2. Nas - Illmatic 3. Dr. dre - The Chronic 4. Notorious B.I.G - Ready to die 5. Run-DMC - Raising Hell 6. Jay-z - Reasonable doubt 7. N.W.A - az4life 8. Ice Cube - Death Ceritificate 9. Tupac SHakur - Don Killuminati: The Day Theory 10. Public Enemy - It takes a nation of millions Now, in all honesty I thought this list would be riddled wit bullshit...but all in all this aint a bad list at all...I pretty much agree wit it...an for the things I disagree with I can live wit, MTV def surprised me. Heres my list: 1. Rakim & Eric B. - Paid in full---> the most innovative album of its time, birthed more than half of all the MCs people of today think is the greastest. Without this album rap would be completely different. 2. Nas - Illmatic--->Nas was heralded as the second coming of Rakim for good reason, argueably the best produced/most lyrical track rap has seen. This album had it all, cant fuck wit that. 3. Raekwon - Only built for cuban Links--->This album was chereographed like a movie, every track runs into the other seemlessly. The storytelling & conceptuality was bananas an nobody has fucked wit this album yet, a true classic. 4. Notorious B.I.G - ready to die---> MTV placed this perfectly, this is Biggie at his rawest, I think life after death he was more polished an made a better overall album, but this had a much bigger impact an made biggie the legend he is today, so its gotta be on here. 5. KRS ONE(BDP Productions) - Criminal Minded---> when this dropped KRS was ruling rap, with an amazing delivery which transended its time, lyrics that jus shit all over the comp...an alot of unique flows, if u really wanna learn about rap this is a album thats gotta be in your collection! 6. Dr. Dre - The Chronic---> one of, if not the most influential album of alltime...probably the best produced hip hop album to date, it showcased what the west was all about, granted it isn't as lyrical as the other mentioned albums but its impact makes it classic. 7. Ice Cube - Death Certificate---> Storytelling pure an simple, Cube was very visual in his rhymes at this time, he could jus tell a story, add his distinct voice an delivery an it = classic...def. a must listen. 8. Jay-z - Reasonable Doubt - this is back in the days when Jay's focus was being an acclaimed mc, before it evolved into being a chart topping mc, this was back when he still flirted wit that rapid flow, an I'd say this is him at his best an rawest, granted blueprint was more polished but didn't have the depth an impact of this cd...I still remember bumping "can I live" on the city bus going to junior highschool in the mornings..a classic indeed. 9. Public Enemy - It takes a nation of millions---> most political rap group ever, chunk D. had that powerful voice & delivery, had messages in all they rhymes...could educate & ENTERTAIN! an did it too perfection..this gotta be on there. 10. Wu Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-tang: 36 chambers---> this shit tore everything down when it came out, very impactful album. I don't know anyone who was into hip hop at that time that didn't bump this on cassette(lol def dated it right there)...this was WU in its prime, a tru classic cant be argued! My honorable Mentions: Big L - Lifestyles of da poor & dangerous Redman - Whut thee album Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientel SLick RIck - the great adventures Tribe Called QUest - midnight Marauders GZA - Liquid Swords Public Enemy - Fear of a black planet Notorious B.I.G - Life After Death Big Daddy Kane - Long Live the Kane Tupac SHakur - Killuminati: the 7 day theory An thats my breakdown, whats yours?

Word that is a good break down and yeah some real hot albums on dat..however i cant say ive heard all of them, but i would agree with Paid in full being the best and Illmatic following...illmatic was real dope i liked that alot...however i think that 2pac all eyez on me double disc should make tha top 10, but then again i aint heard all of those joints...but that album was real inspiring and yeah real words trip i feel dat..i got the chronic too, i wasnt around when tha impact hit but i know it hit hard...

Blondie didn't invent rap, but she played an important role early on with putting it on the main stream's map. 1 |

I'd probably get rid of Ice Cube and Public Enemy just cause I was never big fans of either and I would add Big Pun and CNN So my list would go..... 1. Notorious B.I.G - Ready to Die 2. Nas - Illmatic 3. Rakim & Eric B. - Paid in Full 4. Big Pun - Capitol Punishment 5. KRS One - Criminal Minded 6. Dr Dre - The Chronic 7. Wu Tang - Enter the 36 Chambers 8. Capone N Norega - War Report 9. Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt 10. Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Links And that's my list ![]()
