Is this the one with Ving Rhames? I wasn't too fond of it, but it had a good story to it. Definitely worth a look.....

yeah, Ving Rhames and Terrance Howard. I connected to the movie because well...it told my story. And the symbolism and framing in that movie is outta control, I've never seen paralells like that in a movie.

Have you noticed that Animal is like a pseudo-sequel to South Central? I was saying that to my cousin as we were watching South Central at the scene where the son first sees his father in jail and just as I say "wow, Animal's like a pseudo sequel to south Central", the father says "Behind these bars, It's like I'm an Animal"... and we just look at each other just dumfounded.

lol....now that you say Terrance Howard I remember it a little better. It was a pretty good movie. And I can see where you say it's similar to South Central....another dope ass classic. But yeah, now I can actually picture a bunch of scenes from the movie.....dopeness. And I could actually connect with Ving Rhames at points in the movie, like working at a little ass job to support a family when I could be making much more by slanging shit.....I didn't want my kids to grow up in that shit though, so I rejoined the army. I actually just talked to my boy from back in Philly last week. He says they're making all kinds of cash, but I can't help to think when one of them will either get locked up or shot......shit sucks

It is kinda tempting though with all the money they throw around....lol

tttttsssssssss.....yeah man lol, I know the feeling AND the temptation. But then I remember that I got out of that lifestyle for a reason. There's no future in it.

All the greats go down, no matter WHO they are. Shit, even scarface!! It's a whole differnet itme now, shit even GHOTTI!!! THE TEPHLON DON!!! went down.

Nobody makes it in this game.

And besides, I sleep better with legal money, or for that matter, sleep period.

And I see ya conections with Animal man that shit was great. To be honest with you, the reason I connect to the movie so deeply is because the dialogue that the father had with his son about the difference between being Tough and being Smart, Is the same dialogue I had with my self.
