17 years old, travelin the wrong path,
they told me slow down cuz you movin too fast,
i write rhymes all day, jus tryna gain some wealth,
and i aint worried bout nobody except for myself,
i got mixed emotions filled with anger and greed,
so i ease my mind state by smokin weed,
and my mind stay confused, pondering my next move,

im holdin my own, just so yall respect me,
and tryna stay in line and handle things correctly,
and nobody understand why i do what i do,
but when its all said and done, im gon shine through,
i take a deep breath just to ease the hurt,
suprised i aint 6 feet beneath the dirt,
but im tired of strugglin, im gettin fed up,
but one thing ive learned is to keep yo head up,
walkin 'round thinkin that its all a set up,
but i cant give up now, i cant let up,

As time flies by, i rewind and try,
to erase the memories of when my life was a lie,
tried to be the good guy but deep down inside,
i was insecure, tryna hide my pride,
now ive come to realize, i should be a guide,
and lead MC's, until they all confide,
in what i, can provide through every step and stride,
but if i dont succeed then atleast i tried,
with high confidence and self assurance,
i think i can build up enough endurance,
to pace the race, and finish first,
cuz only the top spot can quench my thirst,
but this devil on my shoulder keeps gettin into me,
to remind me that im my own worst enemy,
plus im still an amateur, no need to be concieted,
cuz as soon as i start, i will be defeated,
ive felt soo much pain and i still wont let up,
cuz i always remembered to keep my head up,
cuz thats life.........

very simple
but well composed flow was there it would be done slow though but that is easy for texas beats all in all i liked this and would like to see more fom you in the future
