IRV GOTTI ARRRESTED ON DRUGS CHARGE


IRV GOTTI, the head of MURDER INC., was arrested backstage at a R KELLY concert in CALIFORNIA on Friday night (August 15) after security allegedly found ECSTASY in his pocket.

The producer was taken to Oakland's Alameda County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on bail.

Russ Giuntini, a prosecutor for the Alameda County district attorney's office, said that Gotti - real name Irving Lorenzo - was stopped by security at Oakland's Network Associates Coliseum. According to MTV News, police say they found one MDMA (Ecstasy tablet) - and several prescription Viagra tablets.

Gotti was due in court yesterday (August 19), though the outcome of the case is not yet known. If found guilty, the producer could be required to take part in the county's drug diversion program.

Federal prosecutors are currently investigating Gotti for money laundering and fraud charges involving Murder Inc. as well as his connections with convicted drug dealer Kenneth 'Supreme' McGriff.
