I smell elevation...

i peer through the looking glass
and see only cracks
my life has made unfortunate turns
reality's turned her back.
kicked up dust and left me here
running laps in my head
she and time fly far away
and leave me here for dead.
love and life drip out of me
my soul begins to fray
i look into the glass, half full
and it looks away.
depressing thoughts attack within
violent actions outburst
inflicting pain on family and friends
to ease my bloody thirst
drinking hate, in a world of dreams
insomnia tries its best
to take control and mess with me
it puts me to the test
but ill never die, just sleep and awake
thus dawns another day
i-spy through my looking glass
as it looks away.
