NO NO NO

I'm not say'n Jay-Z is not talented, and your right, take a poll anywhere and he'll be on the Top 5.

-BUT-

What I am say'n is you got peeps say'n Eminem, 2Pac, Nas, etc are all over-rated, I just think Jay-z is the most over-rated rapper alive.

Peeps I think are better than himlyrically, flow, creativity, longitivity)

- J-Live (better than any rapper)
- Eminem
- Rakim
- Nas
- 2Pac
- BIG

^ 4 out of those 6 are still alive, which makes the statement that he his the best right now totally false............in my opinion

i gotta admit jay z is well good, even if he's the epitomy of materialistic rapping. if u look past that though, his flow's interesting, and his beats are good. nebody saying the black album was shit obviously doens't own it either. it's a good album, certainly his best in my opinion. as for the retiring thing, he'll still be running rocafella, so he'll still make vast wads of cash from his current extreme talent lineup (besides caamron, the dumbass wannabe drugdealer that he is. him and his diplomat tossers).envied talent is right in saying everybody's gotta stop sometime. can u imagine nebody wanting to keep rapping till they're 60 or something? even though an old jay z would be amusing, i'm sure he would have lost his creative spark by then. with a large number of talented people ready to try and take his place on his own record label, i'm sure now is probably a good time to retire. better to go out on a high note than potentially get out shined by his own employees, specially if he lost his creative talent and dropped a wack album.

Ya straight up I think everyone including Jay himself will agree his work was much better in the begining on Reasonable doubt and that shit, so even tho he is one of the best right now, ya its a smart move to give it a break .....at least for a bit, aint much left for him to do or rap about

^ If you would forget his past for one second ^

And look at his shit now, everyone would clown his ass. If he never came out with them hot tracks around 96 and 98, he wouldnt be shit these days. I use to like him, I cant stand his ass anymore. He should have retired after the blue prints came out.
Fuck what anyone else gots to say bout what I said...

^^ yea Blueprint was a good album and he shoulda jus stopped then cuz obviosly everythin after blueprint was as good , but I think to him I mean what does he care its more money. After rappers become famous they jus dont give a fuck as much about being ill jus the cash. Jus take for example Snoop and Nas, they havnt still topped their first albums, and they probly never will.

^ True, But I would rather do other more creative shit with that money. But I think Nas is ganna top his last CDs with that mix coming out this year. Got alot of hype, and if the CD can live up to the hype. Then his shit will be straight. Snoop is done, LOL... Nice points proven hommie ^

He's not the best but he shouldn't retire. He gave Nas free range to whomp on his ass when he did that shit.
